2010 Combined Classes
Our sailing school specializes in private sailing classes. Private sailing classes mean that you and your spouse, friends or family will be the only students in your class. Our class size is limited to two - typically a couple, but we also teach friends and family members who want to share the experience. In special circumstances, we may increase the class size. Please call or send us an email if you have such a requestAll of our classes are liveaboard - all of our boats have air conditioning.
For combined classes that include ASA 101, please add $39 for ASA Membership Fee.
For all combined classes, please add 5.375% Santa Rosa Island Authority Fee.
Lavezzi 40 Catamaran Upgrade (for classes other than 114) $200 per day.
Returning students always receive a 10% "Welcome Back" discount.

General Description: Combines ASA 105 (home study) and ASA 106 Advanced Coastal Cruising

This is a liveaboard cruising class that includes enough time to complete the 105 exam, learn the 106 practical requirements and sailing knowledge, take the 106 exam, and enjoy what the Gulf Coast of Florida has to offer.
Prior to arriving, students complete the ASA Coastal Navigation & Piloting workbook. (During the class, the ASA 105 exam will be administered.)
Upon arrival, students will provision for the class with the instructor and plan their cruise. A likely float plan, dependent upon the weather, will begin with a sail to a protected anchorage at Ft. McRee (near Pensacola Pass). Next morning we sail out Pensacola Pass into the Gulf of Mexico to Destin Pass and into beautiful Destin Harbor. Next day will be a passage in the Gulf from Destin to Panama City for anchorage behind Shell Island. The return from Panama City to Pensacola will be an overnight sail of approximately 90 NM.
Besides ASA 105 & 106 certification...snorkeling, beach combing, and excellent sailing on a beautiful 44' Morgan Center Cockpit are all part of the class.
